“Pet flipping”

ALERT! Criminals have figured out a new way to make some quick cash, and it could involve your pet. “Pet flipping” is when a criminal will obtain a pet – often by stealing it, or answering a “found pet” or Craigslist ad and claiming to be the owner – and then turn around and sell it. Police report that pet flipping is on the rise, and purebreds are likely to be at highest risk. Worse, stolen pets who aren’t spayed or neutered sometimes end up caged as breeding machines. Pet owners are finding their pets for sale on Craigslist at an increasing alarming rate. Advocates suggest microchipping your pets.  Is your pet microchipped?  It is your only legal proof of ownership of your pet!  If you own a pet, please read this important article!
