Ticks Are Out!

Ticks are out and in full force!  Did you know that two of the largest risk factors for contracting Lyme disease are 1) exposure to infected ticks, and 2) vaccination status.  You probably use tick preventatives, but is your dog up to date on its Lyme vaccination?

Today is National Specially-abled Pets Day!

Today is National Specially-abled Pets Day! And you guessed it, today we are celebrating and honoring those dogs that have a disability or face certain physical challenges. These dogs who brave life with paralysis, missing limbs, blindness, and deafness. Whether due to disease, birth flaws or injuries, these dogs’ disabilities do not make them any less capable of showing love and living a fulfilling life.  So consider adopting one of these pets the next time you consider adopting a pet.  Just like Peggy (our technician Sarah’s dog), these pets are great companions!

National Purebred Dog Day

Throughout history, purebred dogs have been depicted in paintings, sculptures, books, and many other media, demonstrating the unique bond between humans and dogs, and the essential role that purpose-bred dogs have played in our lives for thousands of years.  Purebred dogs are a part of our heritage, and a window into the culture that created them.  The AKC is proud to celebrate National Purebred Dog Day today!
