Feline Distemper

Why should my cat receive a distemper vaccination?!  The feline distemper vaccination protects against rhinotracheitis, caliciviruses and panleukopenia.  Feline panleukopenia, caused by feline parvovirus, is what is commonly known as feline distemper. It is a highly contagious and a deadly disease in cats.  Canine and feline parvovirus is still prevalent today and vaccination is highly recommended for all pets.  Meet Fluffy and her owner Danica.  Fluffy was diagnosed with feline panleukopenia July 24th and after one week of intensive treatment in insolation; she is recovering well at home with her family.  Fortunately, Fluffy was lucky in that the virus was caught early and treated appropriately, making both of these cute girls very happy!
